Brandy by the Glass
Brandy is a spirit produced by distilling wine, the wine having first been produced by fermenting grapes. Brandy generally contains 35%–60% alcohol by volume and is typically taken as an after-dinner drink.

Cognac comes from the Cognac region in France and is double distilled using pot stills. Popular brands include Hine, Martell, Rémy Martin, Hennessy, Ragnaud-Sabourin, Delamain and Courvoisier. While some brandies are aged in wooden casks, most are colored with caramel coloring to imitate the effect of such aging. V.S."Very Special" or 3-Star, is aged at least three years in wood. V.S.O.P. "Very Superior Old Pale" or 5-Star, is aged at least five years in wood.
